Junction Produce meaning of Vip Style i copied this from the other international forum

Standing in the middle of a convention hall outside of Philadelphia, Takahiro Taketomi looks a bit like Bogey. His eyes are stern and focused and ringed by the charcoal hue of lost sleep. His short black hair is neat and smoothed and shines. He doesn’t smile. In fact, he speaks with a grimace and like he is always about to light a cigarette.

Taketomi is one of the self-proclaimed founders of VIP style, the next great Japanese micro-trend to surface in America. “Bippu style,” as it is colorfully known in Japan, starts with a high-power luxury sedan. The car is slammed on ultra-thin tires and trimmed with boxy body kits. At first glance, a VIP style car might look like any tuner sedan on its way to Hot Import Nights, but there are specific details that set it apart.

A VIP style car might have a billet grille or metallic trim lines or polished wood inside. Window curtains are big. So are aftermarket emblems and hood ornaments. The look is a bit like Scarface Goes to Japan. And legend has it VIP style has roots in the yakuza (organized crime in Japan). True or not, Taketomi makes a strong case on its behalf.

Through a translator, Taketomi tells us he built his first VIP style car, a Nissan Cedric, in 1993. Three years later he founded Junction Produce, which specializes in products for VIP style cars. Today it is one of the best-known marques in VIP tuning and has its brand on everything from body kits to wheels to cuff links and bracelets. Junction Produce is also the first company of its kind to make a big push into the United States.

According to Taketomi, true VIP style tuning is limited to only 10 Nissan and Toyota models: Nissan President, Cima, Gloria, Cedric and Fuga; Toyota Celsior, Century, Aristo, Crown and Majesta. That’s it. Since most of those models come with powerful turbocharged engines in Japan, VIP style cars are rarely tuned for performance. More important is that they’re slammed as low as they can go on the widest wheels possible. Most of the other tuning parts somehow assist in this goal.

VIP stylers use air suspensions to raise their cars to install the wheels and tires and then lower the car on top. Tires are stretched beyond their limits to fit on oversized wheels. Extreme offsets are used so the wheel lips kiss the fenders. And it’s not unusual to see 245/30R tires on 19x10.5-inch wheels—the tuning equivalent of Fat Albert wearing the shorts of his enunciation-challenged friend Mushmouth.

Kelvin Tohar of Falken Tires, which is helping to spread the word in America, says, “It’s not the safest thing to do and Falken doesn’t recommend you do it for daily driving, but it’s the style.” Falken has partnered with Junction Produce to hawk its line of FR452 tires. In exchange Falken promotes Junction Produce at tuner shows and SEMA events, like the International Auto Salon, where we met Taketomi.

Tohar, who has his own VIP style Lexus GS 300 that he calls by its Japanese moniker Aristo, tells me elegance is the underlying statement. “At car shows, most [owners] won’t raise their hoods because it disrupts the flow of the car,” he says. “Even the Junction Produce exhaust is more of an aesthetic.”

Elegance is the word that’s repeated like a mantra by VIP style owners and companies. But it’s a strange sort of elegance. VIP style companies like Junction Produce, Wald and Auto Couture have logos that look vaguely Oxford Street but are more a Japanese version of mafia royalty, without any ironic subtext, like you’d imagine the parts delivered in purple velvet bags, à la Crown Royal.

And the parts aren’t cheap. Outfitting a car VIP style can run up to $20,000 and beyond. But as Tony Montana says in Scarface, “You gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.”

VIP auto fashion meaning of Vip Style

What is VIP? European, Japanese or American automobiles which are recognized as luxury vehicles.

VIP- The ultimate VIP vehicle can be defined by the perfect synthesis of form and function. Established and respected European/Japanese tuning firms provide the components that ultimately help create a VIP style vehicle. Often these parts are rather difficult and expensive to obtain. The latest in technology and materials are used to ensure the vehicle is on the leading edge of tuning. Cost is often a secondary concern to quality. There are no short cuts taken on a VIP vehicle. From the exterior to the interior, modifications are completed that extend beyond the simple bolt-ons. Attention to detail is paramount among those serious about VIP tuning. Flawless workmanship and custom styling cues are the rule, not the exception. Whether a VIP vehicle is parked on the streets of LA, Miami or NYC, there is no mistaking the sleek, upscale style. VIP tuning is universally recognized by the high-end look and feel.

WHEN U WANT UPGRADE U CAR BE VIP STYLE ... JUST REMEMBER SIMPLE AND LUXURY STYLE CONCEPT...correct me if wrong...thanks!!!

I believe that everyone has heard of VIP wagon, VIP Luxury style, VIP this and that. What is VIP ? Of course it stands for Very Important Person of which most of us comprehend. This concept is based on the car built for a very important person. Thus it has to be luxurious and a display of class and status.

In Japan, this concept begins when young adults who used to love performance cars began to grow out from the racing scene. Being working in the executive society, the display of image is important for showing off their capabilities as executives. However being young in the fast moving work force in Japan, owning a large size saloon car seems impossible. But that can be made possible with older Japanese Saloon Cars, hence with no holds barred, these young Japanese brought some old Toyota Cressidas, Older Celsior, Older Toyota Crown, old Nissan Cima and such, as older cars in Japan are cheaper in price as their depreciation deems high.

So these younger executives buy older cars, dress it up with new paint jobs and aerokits, rims, etc to make it look stylish. Hence this trend started to catch the eyes of many young Japanese and it began to bloom about 15 years ago in Japan. And the word "VIP" starts to conceptualised with association from this style.

VIP Concept cars are often dressed up with VIP aerokit, (something simple, very little curves, look muscular in image), biggest rims that they can squeeze into the fender, and most of them are 3 pieces deep dish rims for the look of expensive taste. Suspension has to be low down to max low to show the sporty feel of class. Then, exhaust has to made to look like continental feeling of twin exhaust style or single exhaust.

Windows are usually tinted until very dark with resembles some rich organisation big boss car or something. In addition, inside has to be leather and classy accessories and wooded console and panels to resemble some rich men driving a expensive cars as most expensive cars such as Mercedes, BMWs, Jags, etc comes with wooden panels.

Popular VIP colours are BLACK and WHITE, however with more new variants of colour, Bright RED/MAROON are up and coming colours of the VIP range.

VIP Concept start to come with a big bang as the spending on the car is definitely cheaper than performance cars in terms of parts and maintainence.

The expensive parts of the VIP are only 3 things. The Aerokit, the Big Rims and the Suspension. However the appeal factor for the mass is always there as it displays the image of class and elegance.

And of course, it must not be clustered with too much sticker because it is not a race car but an image looking car. A few metal emblems will add to the entire class of the car.

This is my personal take on VIP Style

There are so many definitions out there depending on the VIP Style group you are talking to.  Each group has a specific definition that fits their location and culture. Some are strict, some are not.  Of course Junction Produce (the group that invented the idea of VIP Styling) is the basis of all VIP style, but I believe that we have the freedom to be inspired.

Of course one could argue, VIP style for a Vios? Why would a VIP want to use an econo box right? My answer to that is, we have the freedom to style our cars anyway we want, be it JDM, EURO, VIP or what ever.  The keyword here is VIP Styled - for me means, inspired by VIP cars.

Why style your car EURO if your car is Japanese?
Why style your car JDM if your car is European?
Why style your car VIP if its "an Econo car"?

For non-VIP Platform vehicles, VIP Style is a theme, adapting the lifestyle as well.  Its really about your personality.

Anyway here are some guide lines that I personally follow based on my readings on other VIP websites, viewing tons of photos.

1. Wheel Design
Based on my research, styles vary a lot but common aspects of the wheels are, 2-3piece construction (or at least look like it), Silver, Chrome or Polished.  May or may have a large polished lip.  May have black details. There are a lot of brands out there that have these styles, just keep looking at photos of VIP cars and you can more or less get a grasp of what type of wheel design to choose.

Guide - 2 or 3 piece, Silver, chrome or polished, wide polished lip, 5 spoke or short spoke (plato). Black details.
Search for: Junction Produce Scara and Work Euroline, Fabulous rims, to get an Idea of the look.

2. Wheel Size
Its always nice to shoot for the largest wheel that you can fit.  Some go to the extents of using really wide rims with stretched tires and negative camber just to fit the rim into the wheel well.

Guide - try to get your lip as close to the fender as you can through large rims, lowering and perfect offset (try to get the lip of your wheel out as possible without giving you any problems

3. Lowering - One aspect of VIP style is the car being really low to the ground.  In the Philippines however roads are not great. Lots of pot holes and speed bumps. Definitely you will have problems with your daily drive.  So lower as much as you can that is practically possible for your daily commute.

Guide - find the lowest sport springs you can find.  Coil-overs would be better, Air Suspension will be ideal (but hella expensive). Never cut your stock springs (not safe).  Expect some "sayad" or bottoming out. Just be more careful while driving.

3. Bodykit - the simpler the better.  The point of the body kit is to make the car look, slightly bigger.

Guide - simplicity, not much lines, corners, holes or sport designs. Elegance.

4. Over All look - The car should look, less sporty but more elegant.

Guide - The less stickers on the body of the car the better.  Other enhancements that would put a touch of elegance and class.  Chrome trims but not too much.  Only on the proper areas.  Look at cars with higher trim to get the idea.  No Spoilers, ducktails are acceptable.

5. Interior - this is a whole different thing all together, and will touch on that maybe next time.

Bottom line is "Elegance and Class"

Again these are my own personal guidlines only based on my readings and viewing tons of Photos of VIP styled cars.

Hope this helps!

*I'm not claiming that my car is VIP Style... I try though! hehhe but loooooooong way to go.
