fake and real tanabe spring.

Hi all,

i plan to buy tanabe spring but i am afraid cheated by the shop.
i have a few question here.
1. how to differentiate real tanabe vs fake tanabe??
2. is it made in japan tanabe is real tanabe?
3. how to differentiate japan made or taiwan/china made tanabe spring?

Hi sir alex, so far I haven't heard any rumors about fake Tanabe, I have heard of it on Tein though but for Tanabe, so far haven't heard one.

If im not mistaken, Tanabe springs can be made in either Japan or in US as both country manufactured their own products.

i heard from my friend tanabe nf210 is made from USA, TAIWAN, CHINA and JAPAN.
as i know JAPAN and USA tanabe price is much more expensive than the other 2 country.
So how i going to identify that the spring is made from JAPAN?
i dont want the shop cheat me by selling me the TAIWAN/CHINA made tanabe.

please help.

i try to get the the trusted shop. but they out of stock. i found another shop near there but i dont believe them.
the lady boss look very not honest face. haha.

conclusion:
japan made tanabe nf210 is green color.
TAIWAN/CHINA made tanabe nf210 is red color.

really? ive never seen green tanabe springs, Tein is green.  I know all tanabe springs are red.  Even go the tanabe website... the springs are red.

i was reseaching as well on NF210 and DF210 tanabe springs, here is what I found out from another person who got his from his office mate, a light blue na NF210, he wanted to check kung orig talaga so he emailed tanabe USA here was the answer

You do in fact have authentic Tanabe springs.  We have went through several color changes over the years as we have improved the coating processes.

NF210 was available in these colors (from earliest to newest):

Dark Blue/Purple (Paint Coating)
Light Blue (Powder Coating)
Red (Double Powder Coating)

DF210 was available in these colors (from earliest to newest):

Light Metallic Purple (Paint Coating)
White (Powder Coating)
Red (Double Powder Coating)


The boxes have remained the same with the original color, but have a sticker label in Japanese explaining the color difference. Our newer springs will be shipped with newer boxes in the future.

certainly correct. Tanabe have gone thru different colors already. I've also seen NF210 in purple, the one from an old friend....
