Hi, im planning to replace my Vios 04 gen1 busted H3 fog bulbs. I want to DIY na lang but i dont know where to start.  The manual instructed to remove the 2 screws underneath but i find it hard because nasa ilalim sya and I dont have a bed roller ba tawag doon? yung hinihigaan ng mga mekaniko sa autoshops.

Please help me on this, Kahit na step by step for bumper removal if needed for easy access. Im willing to do it, i know DIY is very fulfilling. TIA guys.

removing the 2 screws is still the easiest and fastest. u just need to remove them use 10mm socket box or flower wrench ( me i use the ratchet for easier removal ) then push aside the plastic under carriage cover. reach for the 2 nuts on the rear of the fog assembly use 10mm open wrench. altis and vios of the same model shares the same foglight and procedure also. same with the gen2 vios and the new altis they share the same foglight just different foglight ornament or flare watever its called heheheh.  removing the bumper is too much of a hassle just my opinion and removing and re placing the bumper loosens your bumper retainers or clips. gum

Its actually pretty easy.

There are 2 ways.

you can just try to get to it from under the wheel well, you have to pop out the plastic liner, then just use your fingers to feel the sockets and twist and remove.

Another way which I think is better, is to remove the 2 screws on each side of the fender holding the bumper.  Pop out the clips holding the bumper on the sides.  Then open your hood and remove the clips holding the bumper. No need to remove the screws underneath just pull the bumper down.  You will see the foglights, you can just reach in and twist to remove the bulbs. Smiley

oh by the way, the stock foglight bulbs are H11, are you using an aftermarket foglight?

I dont have photos... it should be easy naman... just remove the fender screws holding the bumper, then pull outward.  The clips under the hood, you can see right away.. just push them in to release.  Once you have them all out, you can pull down the bumper.

for the h3 bulb I'm not sure, the H11 foglight, all you have to do is twist and remove.

actually yung first option from jay would be fine. Kapain mo lang mismo yung socket ng fog bulb mo then twist and pull.

nice found. yan nga... you'll have to twist that round cover then pull the socket bulb. and oh, gamit ka jack para ma lift mo pataas at makahiga sa ilalim, any flywood or karton pwede na mo na sapin sa sahig. mas madali yun kesa mag baklas ka ng bumper.

actually jay hindi twist type ang sa oem ng gen1 vios may cover pa muna before ma expose ang bulb. thats why  i said na remove the whole foglight for ease of removal and placement of the bulb.  you have only 2 screws underneath, one near the foglight and the other near the wheel well or at the angle of the bumper just remove them any 10mm will do. then when you remove the foglight access is important coz the nuts are at the both ends of the foglight assembly just reach for it and push it out. you dont need a trolley bed for going underneath u can places old newspapers underneath your car if you cant see. when u get the foglight assembly remember to remove the socket first, then twist counter clockwise the bulb cover, inside youll see wires either white or violet depends on the present bulb its plugged into the black bulb cover that you twisted to be removed, pull it then theres a wire like retainer at the back of the h3 bulb push it and unlock then now you can remove the bulb then reverse the process for re assembly. for better reference everything i said is in the owners manual try browsing youll see what i mean. the owners manual has illustrations so youl never go wrong with it.
