Hey guys,

Just want to ask your opinion regarding security alarm for our Vios. I'm planning to buy one for my car but I have this worry about the warranty (again) if it will be voided if I will add/replace the security alarm of my car.  I've called Toyota already and asked the price... and it's 9500++ and the brand is Y2K.  Where can I find one which has good quality and affordable price?  My cousin is suggesting me to check Auto Circuit in Banawe, he said they will just upgrade my alarm and it does not needed to replace it or remove it.

Eh, I thought about getting an alarm, but what's the point. If I'm  even a 1/4 mile away from my car and the alarm pages me, the thieves would be gone by the time I run back to my car. So instead of spending hundreds of dollars on an alarm, I got a brake lock. Best thing to get since thieves won't be able to use the brakes, and if you have an auto, they can't switch it to drive.

Dont buy from the casa you can get them on other places for even less than half the price. And yea one of the best places to look is Banaue. As for your electrical warranty it may be void but dont worry about it. HTH!

Also don't tell your insurance company that you're installing an alarm system. I asked my insurance company if I installed one, would my monthly rate go down. They told me that it would be the opposite, that my monthly rate would increase due to more damage inflicted by the thieves to disable the alarm system.

actually insurance here are a lot more different than car insurance over there bro. Here they dont take into consideration anything.. no driving history, no gender,.. i think its just the MV displacement. unlike there we have flat rates here.. hehe.. all they would ask if you mod your car is "would you want that (rims/kits) insured too?". hehe..

true!! just did that to my car.. wrote a letter informing them to include my kits and sound setup upgrade.... then they
gave me an addendum letter saying that my new mods are insured.

but this is OT... hehehehe

kaotic has a point wherein you wont be able to catch those robbers when paged. But here in the phils.. it is used
more as a deterent because of the noise it makes.  robbers would think twice if they know you have alarm in
your car....

Mhelai, you can go to banawe and have one installed, its way lot cheaper there...yup it would void the warranty but it would give you peace of mind.  And I guess, your electrical systems would not malfunction within the warranty period so its just the same.
